The problem: a 5′x20′ shed with a 3′ man door on the long side; tough to get in and out of with a car parked under the car port; impossible to get anything in and out with a car parked under the car port. An extremely poor design.
The solution: blow a hole in the side and cover it up with a sliding barn door. This allows for easier access with an adjacent car, eliminates door dings, and creates the opportunity to set up a work space in the shed.

A huge thanks goes out to kwah-li friends Bryan Jacob and John Barton for help on the project. Here is a final night shot after finally adding the 1×2′s to the door.

Based on the idea of ‘nesting’ humans within nature, this pavilion anchors to the cliffs of the Blue Mountains in Australia. The design constraints do not allow for more than 100 s.f. and no services. You can locate the model herein google earth.
